Created by architect Nikola Bašić in an attempt to repair the devastation of Zadar from the Second World War, the organ is located on the Riva, near the new port. It is an arhitectural installation that functions as a large musical instrument played by the wind and the sea through a set of tubes located underneath its marble steps. It is an unusual experience of harmonious and sometimes haunting sounds that attract both tourists and locals. This engaging structure is surrounded by trees and a wide promenade, ideal for a relaxing walk or contemplation. A spectacle of lights from the adjacent Greeting to the Sun, that starts performing after sunset, blends with the Organ into a unique experience.
