Tourism in Zagreb

rtc

Besides being a commercial hub, Zagreb is a tourist centre, and a popular international conference venue. It has lot of modern shops, restaurants, sport and recreation facilities and a good transport infrastructure.

Zagreb has several interesting tourist attractions, museums and parks. We recommend a walk across the city and tour Gornji Grad (the Upper Town) and visit some of its museums, such as: the City Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Art Gallery at Jezuitski square. In Donji Grad (the Lower Town) near the Croatian National Theatre, there are two interesting museums too: the Ethnographic Museum and the Museum of Arts and Crafts. Not far from there is also the Archaeological museum. If you visit to the southern part of the town situated across the Sava River, we can recommend the Museum of Contemporary Art. The parks such as Zrinjevac or Maksimir are a real ornament of the city, nicely decorated and comfortable, especially during the hot summer days - trees there provide a pleasant shade perfect for walks. The Jarun and the Bundek lakes are perfect for a boat ride or a swim.

Accomodation in Zagreb

In Zagreb you will find a wide accommodation offer, suitable for everyone’s price range. There are big, high quality Hotels in Zagreb, operating within world known chains and small private accommodation facilities. The accommodation category is rated with stars, and the price of overnight stay and other services depend on the hotel category.

Zagreb offers a happening nightlife, plenty of restaurants and cafés that serve world wide cuisines, open air markets (ie. Hrelić Flea Market) and various theatres and multiplexes that screen good quality cinemas.

Around Zagreb

The surrounding area is particularly attractive, with rich vineyards and wine roads, Medieval and Baroque castles (the greatest concentration of castles after the Loire valley) and many health spas.
