Geographical location of Croatia National Parks and clearly outlines the natural diversity of Croatia. Three parks are very mountainous National Park Risnjak, National Park Paklenica, Northern Velebit, there are three islands: National Park Kornati, National Park Mljet, National Park Brijuni and two are a clear example of the carst landscape National Park Plitvice lakes and National Park Krka.


Croatia national parks together covering 7.5% of the country, this 8 parks are special areas of land or sea of exceptional and multifaceted natural value, which comprises one or more preserved or insignificantly altered ecosystems, and are primarily intended to preserve the natural values.
