The general attitude toward FDI in Croatia is positive. The main economic activities attracting FDI are financial intermediation, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, petroleum, and cement manufacturing. While the manufacture of machinery and transport equipment together accounts for a large part of exports (a figure trending upward), they attracted only a small part of FDI.

Croatia is well-positioned geographically. It can be a regional center for operations in Central and South Central Europe. Furthermore, Croatia’s distribution network is steadily improving.
